Tim Conibear blogs on Sport & HIV education

In 2012 the Mercury Phoenix Trust gave £9,500 for the on-going delivery of “Waves of Change”, a pioneering HIV education and lifeskills programme through surfing that serves the Masiphumelele and Khayelitsha communities in South Africa's Western Cape.

 

Founder Tim Conibear recently posted a blog on the Independent website promoting how in South Africa, "sport and surfing is making Waves for Change in the fight against HIV" and how "after a turbulent history, stigma still surrounds Aids in the Rainbow nation".
