Hard Rock Cafe Munich raises awareness in memory of Freddie

Staff and guests get in the FFAD spirit in Germany

It’s the 5th September, 4.00PM – and our “Freddie” is ready to go!

This year host Carlos exchanged his black Hard Rock Cafe uniform with the bright colours of “Freddie”. All along his shift at the host stand he greets the guests as “Freddie Mercury”, introduces himself and tells the story of “Freddie For A Day”. At the entrance every guest also gets the opportunity to win one of the exclusive Queen CDs or a nice moustache to join the Hard Rock Team! Already from the start, a queue has built up to pull a raffle ticket and the number of people with moustaches in the room continues to grow. Then suddenly our Freddie has a twin at his side, when a guest comes in to dine in the same fabulous costume!

But it wouldn’t be a Freddie night without the entertainment! At around 6pm Freddie starts his show in front of a filled restaurant of stunned faces. As he appears and starts to dance around lip-syncing to “One Vision” with his typical microphone on the short stand, lots of flashlights light up the room. At the end of the song he gets a big applause, before he gets back at his host stand to welcome the next guests. In the end, there were so many pictures taken, we wouldn’t have been surprised, if guests wanted an autograph from our Freddie. To sum up, again a very nice day that raised awareness in the memory of this great entertainer and everybody had a lot of fun!
